I began writing Aura after my very first queer experience. I was in the midst of the exhilaration that is getting to know someone, while also getting to know my own truth. Just when I thought I had unraveled the mystery of our connection, *poof*, this person disappeared. Being ghosted totally sucks! I found reminders of them when I visited the city where we'd dwell. After their whimsical aura caught the corner of my eye at a thrift store a few months later, I went home and spent the whole night at my piano. I had the privilege of polishing this song off with Darren Flower (Dandelions Music and Arts) and having Justin Bennet mix and master my music (both of whom kick all sorts of ass in the band WayWard Saints)
